LoKah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu (low-Kaah Suh-mun-Staah Soo-Khee-no-bhuh-Vuhm) May everyone everywhere be happy May the whole world be joyous
A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. ~Albert Einstein
Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi
Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life. Meaning does not lie in things. Meaning lies in us. ~Marianne Williamson
Your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it. ~Buddha
When you do things from your soul you feel a river moving in you, a joy. When action comes from another section, the feeling disappears. ~Rumi
Love is My Religion ~Bob Marley
Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional. ~ Dalai Lama
The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials. ~Chinese Proverb
Be faithful to that which exists within yourself. ~Andre Gide
Peace A ”Para-Gram” by Parama hansa Yogananla
Change yourself and you have done your part in changing the world. Every individual must change his own life if he wants to live in a peaceful world. The world cannot become peaceful unless and until you yourself begin to work toward peace. It is only by removing hate from our hearts that we can live a Christlike life.
SERVICE
A "Para-Gram" by Paramahansa Yogananla Life should be chiefly service. Without that ideal, the intelligence that God has given you is not reaching out toward its goal. When in service you forget the little self, you will feel the big Self of Spirit. As the vital rays of the sun nurture all, so should you spread rays of hope in the hearts of the despondent, and light a new strength in the hearts of those who think that they are failures. When you realize that life is a joyous battle of duty and at the same time a passing dream, and when you become filled with the joy of making others happy by giving them kindness and peace, in god's eyes your life is a success.
In the final analysis, the hope of every person is simply peace of mind. ~ Dalai Lama
Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many. ~ Unknown
There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. ~Albert Einstein
Look At Love
Look at love How it tangles With the one fallen in love Look at spirit How it fuses with earth Giving it new life Why are you so busy With this or that or good or bad Pay attention to how things blend Why talk about all The known and the unknowns See how unknown merges into the known Why think separately Of this life and the next When one is born from that last look at your heart and tongue one feels but deaf and dumb the other speaks in words and signs look at water and fire earth and wind enemies and friends all at once the wolf and the lamb the lion and the deer far away yet together look at the unity of this spring and winter manifested in the equinox you too must mingle my friends since the earth and the sky are mingled just for you and me be like sugarcane sweet yet silent don't get mixed up with bitter words my beloved grows right out of my own heart how much more union can there be ~Buddist Nun Perma Chodron
Our Wisdom is Always There
The Budda said that we are never separated from enlightenment. Even at the times we feel most stuck, we are never alienated from the awakened state this is a revolutionary assertion. Even ordinary people like us with hang-ups and confusion have this mind of enlightenment called bodhichitta. The openness and warmth of bodhichitta is in fact our true nature and condition. Even when our neurosis feels basic than our wisdom, even when we're feeling most confused and hopeless, bodhichitta- like the open sky- is always here, undiminished by the clouds that temporarily cover it. ~Buddist Nun Pema Chodoron
Why do you stay in prison when the door is so wide open? Move outside the tangle of fear-thinking. Live in silence. - Rumi
This message from Rumi brings up many emotions for a lot of people, me being one of them! To live with a silent mind by separating the ego from the spirit is perhaps the most important & hardest lesson to follow. This is a continuous process where one has to be completely aware of their thoughts yet only react to them when the time is right. We have to learn how to be & not do. The ego “pushes” us to do many things before we are aware or ready. Especially, in today’s fast paced world! Spirit “allows” us to be in the present moment realizing that we have no problems in that moment. Anger, resentment, fear & anxiety only exist when we live in the past or the future (ego). We live in peace (spirit) when we are living in the present no matter what that may be.
